Please help animals by never purchasing their wool, skin, hair, or feathers.

PETA and its affiliates worldwide have uncovered horrific abuse of animals exploited for their wool, skin, hair, and feathers. Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters all sell products made from animals, contributing directly to their immense suffering and violent slaughter. Alpacas: Workers at the world’s largest privately owned alpaca farm tied pregnant alpacas to a restraining device resembling a medieval torture rack to shave off their fleece and pulled hard, nearly wrenching their legs out of their sockets . Terrified of being pinned down, they cried out, spit, and vomited in fear. Sheep: At more than 100 wool operations in six countries, including the U.S., PETA and its affiliates have found that during shearing, workers punched, stomped on, kicked, threw, mutilated, injured, and killed these gentle, sensitive animals. Goats: PETA Asia has documented that goats are pinned down and violently shorn for mohair, leaving them badly cut up and bleeding, and that their hair is torn out with a sharp metal comb for cashmere. Birds: For down fill or trim, workers tear out the feathers of geese and ducks. Some companies claim to use “responsible” or “non live-pluck” down, but investigations have revealed that the labels are often meaningless. All birds used for down end up being violently killed. Cows: In the leather industry, cows are branded, electroshocked, beaten, and slaughtered for their skin. High-speed slaughter lines often result in improper stunning, so millions of cows are skinned and dismembered while kicking and crying out in terror. Silkworms: Even tiny silkworms have a physical response to pain. Silk is the fiber that they make to spin protective cocoons, but in order to steal it from them, workers boil them alive .
